And it’s just as important to your heirs, years from now, to get a glimpse into their own background and heritage.

Most families, over the years, preserve their family photographs, when necessary running back into a fire or emerging from a flood with their precious box of pictures. But it’s considerably more difficult to preserve the stories behind the pictures, not just the name but who they were, what they did and why their life mattered to generations that follow. We generally rely on the fading memories of others to tell the stories, but seldom tie the stories to the family images.

At Third Act Films, we create and preserve, write and produce, research and document your story as a broadcast quality documentary video. The structure of every story is different, but generally a background research/historian integrates your family story along a time line including local and regional history. For some stories, we target and verify dates and records to fill in missing details. All the stories are built on professionally produced interviews with key family members that you designate. We write and record a narrative with a name narrator to tie all the elements together. Then we score each production with original music. The end result is a professionally produced, world class documentary of your story.

	It all starts with you. We talk by phone and get a broad idea of the scope of the project. The production process generally takes six months but we send you an outline of the suggested steps within a day or two of our first phone call. We look to you for information but we provide the research, ideas, scripting and every production element to make your story come to life.
